Schoology as a LMS in the classroom

I believe that it is important to use a learning management system in the classroom these days because it is a great way to link face to face learning and digital learning with a blended learning approach. More specifically, I recommended using Schoology as an LMS because it makes organizing lessons, materials, and assignments simple, and easy to use. Teachers can load resources, such as presentations, files, assignments, quizzes all in one place, such as a folder where students can access to find their work. There are so many resources that can be used with Schoology that help both teachers and students to stay organized, and track work by due dates. Schoology has a clear format and layout, which reduces any confusion with where things are, or how to get to them, and this makes the learning process smooth for everyone.

Schoology supports collaboration between teacher and student, and student to student. Communication is supported and can be improved upon while using Schoology. There’s ways to message each other, so that students can ask questions as they arise, and teachers can provide feedback directly to the student. Open communication is encouraged and made available, students will feel supported, even when they are not working from the classroom. What I like most is that students can collaborate, have discussions, and work in teams. All of these things support a blended learning environment.

This LMS is a tool to create interactive and engaging lessons. The content can include videos, links, and other multimedia resources in the daily lesson which sparks the students attention, and keeps them interested. Basically, Schoology keeps students motivated, and interested, and students are not just reading text, or listening to lectures. It offers so many different types of interactive elements, and is a great way to incorporate a blended learning approach.

Teachers can give real time feedback on assignments as students complete the work. Students don’t have to wait for paper assignments to be returned to them, but they can see comments and grades as soon as the teacher posts them. Students can improve, and adjust their work in a more efficient manner. Students can adjust their work based on teacher feedback. This can happen right away in most cases. Students are encouraged to make changes, show growth, and improve on their work.

Finally, Schoology is a great learning management system for both teachers and students. It would be a cost effective investment that makes a difference in the classroom, and in the education of learners. It has a simple interface, and you don’t have to be an expert to navigate the system. Therefore, it’s great for beginners that are new to using a LMS. I would recommend using Schoology in a blended learning classroom because important things, like managing lessons, providing collaboration, encouraging communication, and offering real-time feedback will all help students improve, and make their learning journey personal, and customized.
