Hi! My Name is Jackie Bittner, and I am from Buda, TX. I’ve been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 24 years. Rob and I have two beautiful children, Jax and Jade. Our kiddos are college bound now, and both attending Texas State University. We feel so proud of the life that we have created together.
I am currently a teacher in HAYS CISD. I’m going on my 14th year working in the district, and my 9th year as a 3rd grade teacher. 3rd Grade is definitely my jam! I’ve been a team lead for my grade level for the last 6 years, and would love to continue to grow in this educational leadership role. I am very interested in creating or developing educational content, so that learners can use it to further their understanding, or training in what they are achieving. This course can help me by challenging me to be limitless, and find ways to understand what learners need to feel engaged, and how to successfully collaborate with others. Looking forward to learning and growing!
I love going hiking, watching movies, and playing board games. But, my most favorite thing to do is go to the beach with my family. I absolutely love the sound of the waves, and when my toes hit the sand. Life is much more relaxing and calming at the beach. Florida is our go to place during the summer time. We love getting on a boat and sailing out as far as we can. As a family, we have amazing memories that have been made at the beach. I like to remember this during my times of struggle, or when I need to remember to keep on going, and enjoy life to the fullest. Life is better together, and we have certainly enjoyed it.
We also have two of the cutest dogs. There is Judo, a yorkie, who was about 17 years old before he passed. He was so special, the greatest dog of all time, and was a perfect fit for our family. He will always be in our hearts. And, there is Mugsy, our Jack Chi, who is about 13 years old, and always keeps us on our toes since he is a little escape artist once he gets into our backyard.
Overall, I am super excited about all of the things that I am learning while getting my Master’s of Education Degree in Applied Digital Learning from Lamar University. It is the perfect tie into where I am in my life. Definitely something that I needed, and certainly an eye opener as to where I am as a learner. The knowledge that I am gaining through this program will help me be a stronger educator, and allow me to better support learners in a way that is truly best for them. I am thankful to have the opportunity to help people get to where they want to be in their lives, through a growth mindset, commitment, and determination. I am looking forward to this journey!
