Final Compilation Post Resources for Digital Environments – 5317

Publication Outline

This is where I organize the main points of my document and gather my ideas using a logical framework that includes a brief summary of each section that covers what I plan to write about to support my innovation plan. I also included information and links to where I intend to submit my publication, and how the research that I have provided can help others in the educational field. I also discussed the digital resources that were used in a flex blended environment, and how my students thrived through their lessons and projects using various technologies to support their learning and understanding.

Publication Rough Draft

This is the initial version of my writing that supports my innovation plan of implementing a flex blended approach using Schoology, project based learning, and guided instruction. I created content that explains an actual project that my students did that involves using Schoology, and other digital apps in the classroom that connect to real world situations. I used examples of how digital tools were used to enhance student learning, and how to keep the focus on the students’ learning experience. I made meaningful connections to thought leaders that have studied and explored how learning is an active and dynamic process, that an individual should learn with others in a group or team setting and construct new ideas or concepts as they grow together. 

Peer Feedback/Feedforward

The collaborative group that I am a part of reviewed my assignment, as I did for them as well, and we gave each other constructive suggestions to improve our work by stating the things that were good, as well as some ideas that we thought could make it better. Not only did we provide feedback on what was already created, but we also suggested feedforward, which gave tips on how to do something better, especially for next time. This experience was to show growth by improving on what we learned, and gaining our peers perspectives. Even though there are some challenges to this process, the benefits outweigh them all. Peer feedback provides a better chance to refine your work, and help others along the way. It is an opportunity to gain different insights and help each other through any mistakes before a final submission of our work. This process requires teamwork and open mindedness, and helps us to improve our communication skills, and taking criticism from others which essentially will increase our knowledge and growth.

Media Project

I created a video to share how my students are using Schoology, project based learning, and guided instruction in the classroom. In this video, you will see their experiences in a flex blended environment, where they also use other digital tools for sharing ideas and collaboration on their learning. The goal was to successfully share this information with those that are interested in implementing this type of environment to support learning in a better way that encompasses the needs and passions of diverse learners, and allows them to have student agency. Most importantly, we want to create a significant learning environment that includes COVA. 

Research that supports Media Project

I continued my research and collected more data on how blended learning with a flex model approach is essential for the success of today’s learners. I also explored various tools and apps that will enhance learning and can be used to further the education of our students. I shared user experiences and explained how student accountability is crucial to a well rounded, significant learning environment. Students need to have control of their education, and the speed and timing of which it happens. Then, teachers become the facilitators in the classroom and guide the students on how to progress through the lessons and activities using Schoology, project based learning, and guided instruction with self paced learning and mastery focused education. Ultimately, we want to empower learners to take charge of their learning so that it becomes meaningful and purposeful to them.

Final Publication

To sum it up, I wrote a final publication about how project based learning has been used in my classroom for an assignment that relates to real life situations, and connects to my innovation plan of creating a flex blended approach in a team setting to support academic concepts, problem solving skills, critical thinking, and group collaboration. Here, not only are learners learning academically, but they are learning socially and emotionally which gets them ready for their future outside of the classroom. Students should be able to learn at their own pace, yet still have support from their teacher as needed. They should be encouraged to take ownership of their education, and build independence so that they can become self-directed learners.
